My husband joined the Army as a 68 Whiskey……?
he will be leaving sept 21,2009 for basic at Fort sill then off to Sam Houston for Ait. My question is how long will his training last? and also will they let him come home for christmas?
His BCT is 10 weeks and every trainee get Christmas Exodus which is 2 weeks.

Tell your husband to look on the reservation he got from the recruiting office and it will tell him how long his basic and AIT will be. As for coming home, trainees are granted Christmas Exodus but it is chargable leave. That means that if they are gone two weeks then 14 days will be deducted from his 30 day-a-year leave balance.

Basic Training 8-12 weeks, then 68W school (Combat Medic) is about 16 weeks. He will get leave in between the two palaces of Ft. Sill and Ft. Sam. Ft. Sam is paradise next to Ft. Sill.

bct is 9 weeks+1(possibly 2) week of repo+possibly another week or 2 as a hold over. kind of rare but it does happen
68w school is 16 weeks i believe? plus a week or 2 of repo, depends on whwen the next class is starting.
yes he’ll get exodus, thats like right before xmas to right after new years i believe.
